Gluconolactone

Gluconolactone

Gluconolactone is a poly-hydroxy acid, also called a PHA, that works as an exfoliant to improve the skin’s tone and texture. With large molecules, it doesn’t penetrate as deeply as other exfoliants, which makes it an excellent choice for people with sensitive skin. Naturally found in foods such as the sugar beet, it helps brighten and smooth the skin while still remaining gentle.  This helps it improve the skin texture, while gluconolactone’s properties as a humectant draws water to the skin increasing hydration.
